Update 23 August 2017

Following feedback received at the community meeting held on 25 July 2017, the Public Housing Renewal Taskforce have revised the planned development on Section 29 Wright. https://www.economicdevelopment.act.gov.au/urban-renewal/public-housing-renewal/better-housing/replacement-housing-locations/wright

The key points to note are:

  • Number of units reduced from 32 to 26
  • Buildings are now 2 storeys and 2 units are one storey (on lower end of Diesendorf St side)
  • All units will have balconies/courtyard for ground floor units
  • Details of building materials and colours were also available
  • Revised plans showing new heights, correct access and setbacks, and elevations can be seen at https://www.economicdevelopment.act.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0005/1095233/Updated-Wright-Site-Plan.pdf
  • Parking will be 1.5 spaces for each unit plus 14 visitor carparks (4 above ground and the rest in basement carpark)
  • All units will be equipped with window treatments
  • All units will have a drier, but the Taskforce will investigate other drying options (screened area on balconies)
  • Buildings will have 6 or 7-star rating and be adaptable for aged/disability requirements
  • The DA will be lodged in approximately 2 weeks and there will be a 5-week period for comments/objections to be lodged

We would appreciate your feedback on this revised proposal.
