Lodge your objections to housing proposal by cob Friday
The public housing renewal taskforce has lodged a Development Application to build 26 flats on the community facility site in Wright. You can still have your say about this proposal by lodging a representation (objection), however you must do so by the close of business on Friday (24 November).
Every resident who is concerned about the proposal should lodge a representation. If you need some inspiration on what to write in your representation, look through the posts in the News section on our website www.wright-residents.com You will find information on the issues that we have been raising since we first heard about this proposal in March.
You should also be aware that Holder residents have had their development reduced from 30 flats to 16 single storey supportive housing units, and Chapman have had their development reduced from 30 units to 20 single storey units. Wright remains as a big blocks of flats with 3 storey buildings (2 storeys of flats and a basement storey that will be partially above ground). There is still no formal commitment from the government for community facilities to be built or to guarantee that there will be anything other than housing in Wright.
You might also consider sending a message (or a copy of your objection) to Yvette Berry, Minister for Suburban Development at firstname.lastname@example.org It is important that she be made aware that Wright residents are still not happy about this proposal, particularly the size and scale of the development and the lack of community facilities.
Below are the links to the plans (the detailed proposal) and the form for lodging a representation (comments on, or objections to the development plan).
